I just know they exist, because I've seen a few of them mentioned here in the past, and I decided to search for them a couple of times, when considering possible accessories for various cameras I have thought about buying, including the fp. NOTE: Just to be clear, I have never used one of these devices. No doubt Sigma's LVF-11 is better quality, but this is something you will rarely use, and you're trying to save money, right? It too is expensive though, at $292.00 directly from Sigma, as far as I'm concerned, and there are cheaper alternatives out there. Hi Elie, the LVF-11 rear screen viewer attachment has some advantages, including the fact that it is not an electronic component. If you don't have problems with the mentioned topics and the size the LVF adds to the camera, it is a real great solution.īTW, what I also like is that the camera is much more static when I press it against my "eye" or glasses than having it purely hand-hold. I think this is more a problem how close the glasses are to your eyes or how close you can move them to your eye when pressing the LVF against the glasses. But at least with my glasses, I don't see the full LCD at once as good as I would like to. With glasses, this is of course no problem. Without glasses I would need about -3 to -3.5. You can still do it with the buttons, though.įor me, the LVF is unfortunately not the optimal solution because the diopter setting goes only down to -2. You can't use the touch sensitivity of the LCD any longer, e.g. But I personally have no problem at all with that. So not really in the same class as the top notch EVF one may find. A bit like a large and bright cinema screen compared to TV. I use it on my fp and it is really a pleasure to work with. Your thought would be appreciated, especially, before I go ahead and decide for one to buy. I was thinking about the new EVF, but at the price Sigma is asking for it and the fact that it isn’t that much less bulky than the original viewfinder that I’d skip it and just get the LVF - 11.Ĭan anyone tell me their experience with it, is it work getting one? It makes the camera look ridiculous but I read reviews that it’s the best experience people had with a viewfinder on a camera. I would like to get a viewfinder for it because I prefer shooting this way and the screen is hard to use in strong sunlight. See our general disclaimer for more information.I just purchased an fp that I mainly use for stills with my M lenses.
